Pink Floyd – Another Brick In The Wall

Lifted from "Pink Floyd The Wall" film, this video is actually comprised of two songs: "The Happiest Days Of Our Lives" and "Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2" This video became the official video of "Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2" after the release of the film in 1982.

This single is by far Pink Floyd's greatest ever mainstream success, instantly attaining classic status, and is perhaps their most famous piece of work.

ABINTW Pt. 2 even became the protest song of a group of South African students during the apartheid regime, the song was subsequently banned in South Africa.

The song itself is a protest against the rigidity of British schools, and in particular, the boarding school system Waters would have been part of as a young boy.

The poem read out by the schoolteacher is a direct reference to "Money"

The schoolteacher in this video was portrayed by the late, great, Scottish actor Alex McAvoy who passed away in June 2005.

    4. +cursedswordsman Knowledge is out there for the one who seeks for it, schools are employes fabrics, most people get into college with the mentality that they are getting the ultimate weapon for the world wich is the knowledge but the goal that has been imposed to them is to get knowledge to fullfill a job in a fabric or something like that, and that may be wrong, with the right mentality you can get into college, learn all you want and aply it to your will and benefit or you can just not go to college and seek for knowledge in other ways, both ways may work but school turns learning into an obligation and stress wich is counterproductive, im into college, ingeniering and im intrested in a lot of topics about it but the way that is executed, stress, excesive works, no sleep, suck of money and the obligation of getting certain points take away a lot of the focus or interest a person may have, because you know, thats not the only thing in our lives and thats not our only interest, therefore thats not the only thing i do with my time as imtrying to make my way on music too and that adds stress and rests time.
      NOW, i made a friend that works in a call center, the guy works there just to get money to make other things he is interested in like a record studio and other stuff, he has never got into college but speaking to this guy i realized how much he knows about things, he even talks about topics that im just learning in college and im not a freshman, he talks about phisics, math, microcells, universe theories, we where calculating how much it takes for light to get to some places and the guy beated me in speed for doing it, the guy calculated and converted how much it takes light to get from saturn to earth and then turned lightyears to minutes and tho is not that difficult it still suprises me how a guy that has never got into college seeked for knowledge himself and knows this stuff and lives a little bit more free than students, hell it even surprised me how he has clear that lightyears are a lenght meassure since most people think its time.
      Yes asia tends to beat everyone in that stuff, but they have the highest depression and suicidal rate in the world, the way they educate their children tend to be really brutal so if you compare the level of knowledge vs the level of happiness i dont think thats role model

    5. Tô pouco me fudendo se ele é conservador ou não, a música do pink Floyd é sensacional independente da posição política do cara, pra mim a música está acima de qualquer ideologia que eles tenham.
